Newly painted Russian Icon of the Savior "Wet Beard". This icon is striking, flawless execution of painting and with a fully gilt background. The panel itself is traditional with the spines on the reverse and is without kovcheg. The subject matter is rare and represents a very early theme in Russian iconography. The "Wet Beard" depiction is known as such with the beard of Christ coming to a distinctive point at the end. There is a small and insignificant dent at the top of the icon, but overall, this icon is close to perfection.Â
