St. Nicholas of Myra (The Miracle of the Carpet) Orthodox Icon
There was an elderly couple who were very poor and were forced to take thier last possession (a carpet) to the market for sale. This carpet was purchased by an elderly man (St. Nicholas) for six gold coins. Upon the couple's return home the same elderly man (St. Nicolas) appeared to them and returned thier carpet.Â
