St. Nektary of Optina Orthodox Icon
St. Nektary was one of the last of the Optina elders and is considered to be, perhaps, the most "mystical" of all the Starets. Both Bishop Nektary of Seattle and Bishop Andrew of Rockland were his spiritual chidren and aided greatly, through thier experience of St. Nektary, to transmit a little part of Optina to our far away land, America.
