This handcrafted vigil lamp is made around genuine antique opalescent glass, paired with a solid black walnut and maple laminated holder. Every lamp is individually crafted to complement the character of the antique glass, resulting in a piece that is both functional and beautiful for use before icons or in the prayer corner.
Unlike modern reproduction glass, these antique opalescent glasses possess exceptional lighting qualities. The opalescent glass and its distinctive patterns gently diffuse the flame, producing a warm, soft glow with remarkable depth and richness. As the lamp burns, the light interacts with the antique glass in a way that modern glass simply cannot duplicate. The opalescent surface scatters and amplifies the light, creating a brighter, more luminous glow than ordinary glass.
Each lamp includes a traditional Old Believer-style wick holder and one cotton wick. An 18-inch brass hanging chain is also included. If you require a different chain length, simply contact us before ordering, and we will gladly customize it to your desired length.
Because these lamps are built around genuine antique glasses, availability is strictly limited. We can only produce lamps as suitable glasses are found. The quantity shown reflects the number currently available of each particular glass style. Once they have been sold, that exact variation may never be available again.
