Christ "Not Made With Hands" and Scenes Orthodox Icon
This common depiction of the Savior is one of the earliest known in the Orthodox church and stems from the tradition of Agbar, the ruler of Edessa, being healed of leprosy when a cloth was brought to him which had the image of the Savior's face portrayed on it. This particular icon also illustrates the twelve great feast of the Orthodox Church, which have been painted around the central figure.
