Archangels Raphael and Tobias Orthodox icon
The Archangel Raphael appear to Tobias during a journey to help him through numerous hardships. In this Russian icon the scene is depicted where Tobias acquires the fish which is later used to make medecine, most importantly the gall was used to heal Tobit, Tobias father, from blindness. These events have been recorded in the Old Testament book of Tobit.
