Original antique icon of The Mother of God Appearing to St. Sergius of Radonezh
This icon of The Mother of God Appearing to St. Sergius of Radonezh was painted somewhere between the 17th and 18th century, but it is hard for me to date as there appears to be several layers of painting.  There has been some restoration started on this icon, but not completed. Both splines are still in place and the panel itself is with a double kovcheg. The panel seems to be typical of panel styles from the 17th century. There is obvious paint loss and need for restoration.Â
